I have been promising myself to do more volunteer work this year. Well I didn’t start the year off right away volunteering but I have set a goal to participate in at least 3 volunteer programs by the end of the year. I know that may not seem like much but I had to set a goal that was realistic to my availability.
Well over the past weekend I volunteered at Free Fab’rik thrift boutique in Atlanta as a stylist. They are an organization geared towards helping young girls and women as well to build their self-esteem and confidence. They held a free shopping spree for a group of girls to shop for an outfit and accessories. They have a mentorship program and vocational training available as well. It was a great experience and a good feeling to see the smiles on their faces.

Semi Formal Meets Cool Edginess
I wanted to play a little dress up today but wanted to keep it cool and edgy. I paired a black ball gown skirt with a casual t-shirt( selfie imposed), burgundy fedora with a black band, my black moto jacket, and black and white check print belt. All pieces thrifted except the t-shirt of course.

Say It Isn't Faux
I love the feel of real fur like the next gal except the next gal may have the funds to drop the dollars on the real thing. The Fall and Winter season is my favorite time of year because you can wear as many layers and accessories as you like. I love textures like fur, leather, and suede, etc. Here are a few of my "furried treasures"I found from thrifting: Faux but Fabulous!
Black faux fur neck wrap: $2.99, White faux fur collar: 99 cents, Mixed brown/sand faux fur hat: $1.59

Styling My DIY Neon Sleeves Blazer
I'm sorry it took so long but as promised: How I would style my DIY neon sleeve blazer. I paired it with a simple white Tee and boyfriend jeans and added black pointy toe pumps for a touch of femininity! I also added a single strand necklace with beaded detail and a ribbon bow tied for a belt.
