ON THE FLIP SIDE

Well there is always a new fashion or beauty trend out there and some I can get with but some I can’t.  The latest that I have seen is the Flip Manicure. Maybe it’s the latest for me since I don’t get my nails done often but I would say from what I have been reading it is catching on.  I like innovation but I’m not quite sure about this one. On one hand(no pun intended) I like the idea but on the other, I keep asking myself is there really a point? I mean who is really going to know you have a nail design on the bottom side of your nail unless you are shaking hands with someone which not too many people do these days.  Meeting people over social media seems to be the norm these days but that is neither here nor there.

Back to the flip manicure though, it’s kind of cool but I don’t know if I will try it out and that is mostly because I have only gotten my nails done less than a half of dozen times in my life. I know, may seem sad to some but I’m just not that high maintenance.  Still on the fence about whether this is something I will try or not but you never know...

On another "nail" note I'm really feeling the Louboutin nail polish.

Thoughts of Fall

Is it ever too early to think about Fall?  In my mind it isn't since it's my favorite time of year.  I am already coveting the Altuzarra for Target collection. I haven't bought anything from a Target collaboration in a very long time but I think this Fall I may treat myself for being so disciplined. After all a girl has to treat herself sometimes right? :) Here are a few of my faves. I like that the dresses give off a 70s vibe.

I have been promising myself to do more volunteer work this year. Well I didn’t start the year off right away volunteering but I have set a goal to participate in at least 3 volunteer programs by the end of the year.  I know that may not seem like much but I had to set a goal that was realistic to my availability.

Well over the past weekend I volunteered at Free Fab’rik thrift boutique in Atlanta as a stylist.  They are an organization geared towards helping young girls and women as well to build their self-esteem and confidence.   They held a free shopping spree for a group of girls to shop for an outfit and accessories.  They have a mentorship program and vocational training available as well.  It was a great experience and a good feeling to see the smiles on their faces.
